I have had the opportunity to collaborate with Sarah on many of her productions, I adore working with Sarah and her partner Bec as they give me total creative freedom to come up with ideas and work together to create iconic design for each show and chracter.

“there is a crack in everything thats where the light gets in”

For her debut season in the UK at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sarah Ward aka Yana Alana presented her award winning show “Between the Cracks” that looks at mental illness and identity. The concept of loneliness and isolation was the aim of the poster, contrasting the over the top image of Yana in the white space indicating her vulnerability.

The next episode…

As a part of the Midsumma Festival, Sarah’s ambitious vision was to provide a punk rock cabaret that would be accessible for all viewers. The full show was narrated by an auslan interpretor, Special consideration was taken when designing the show zine to provide adequate contrast for accessibility

Design elements for this project were drawn from glam rock and punk rock. I worked closely with photographer Elleni Toumpas to direct the photography with shot requirements and lighting.
